Brickwall Paul and RonThe Earl Soham Brewery had been brewing in Maurice’s old chicken shed behind the Vic since 1985.  In 2000 ESB bought a bigger shed, the Old Forge building opposite the village green.  (Immediately preceding ESB the building had been used by an upholsterer and before that it was a garage.)

With the help of old friends John, Brickwall Paul (it's him in the pic), Ronny, Malcolm and Geoff, and plant fabrication by Julian and Curly overseen and encouraged by Malcolm Walker, the shed was turned into a brewery.  With grateful thanks to Jeremy, Nick, Roger, Andy, Andrew, Mark W, NaTCH, Gary of Fram DIY, and Kirsty from Potters for their additional but essential help the new brewery finally became productive in May 2001.

BREWER’S COMMENT:  It took long hours, loads of money but mostly the immense expertise, support and encouragement of all those mentioned above.
