Earl Soham Brewery has always brewed one off beers for fun and a sense of occasion and will continue to do so.

Sir Roger's Porter

EDWARD ALE

1.040osg  4.0abv (4.0%)

First Brewed: First brewed May 2001 to celebrate the opening of the new brewhouse.  Seems to have withered away a couple of years later.

Available: Summer only (hopefully March to October)

Light in colour, less bitter and with enhanced top flavour.  Brewed using only pale malt with Fuggles in the boil and a very late addition of Goldings.

BREWER’S COMMENT:
Hooray, hooray the first of May
Outdoor ******* starts today

(Old Suffolk Rhyme)

Jolly Roger

JOLLY ROGER

First Brewed: St Valentine's 2005

1.???osg  ABV 4.5abv (4.5%)

When bottle conditioned it's know as All Day Breakfast because of the citric overtones.

BREWER’S COMMENT:

Elizabeth

ELIZABETH ALE

First Brewed: June 2002 to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee

1.040osg  ABV 4.2abv (4.2%)

The beer was rich in colour and bittered with Worcestershire Fuggles, East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and dry hopped with Styrian Goldings.  A clean bitter premium beer.

BREWER’S COMMENT:   Dry, bitter and hits the spot.

Twin Towers pump badge

TWIN TOWERS

First Brewed: Summer 2000

1.047osg  ABV 4.8abv (4.8%)

A strong beer brewed to celebrate the original Tractor Boys success in the Wembley final of the Carlsburg cup.  They went on to achieve second in Europe only losing to Sweden in a tense and very close final.

The crystal trophy sits proudly in an illuminated cabinet in a corner of the Vic to this very day.

BREWER’S COMMENT:  Footballers and beer lovers drank it and suffered.

BANTAM

First Brewed: 1998?

Brewed for Andy Tiernan's BSA Bantam weekend.

BREWER’S COMMENT:  Albert fermented to dryness - good headache.

BLACK BULLACE

First Brewed: A year after the Damson Beer and after The Station opened (1997)

The bullace were lovingly picked from an ancient tree by June A and supplied by Youngmans Fruit Farms free!  Many thanks.

BREWER’S COMMENT:  Like Vic but sharper and bitterer.

DAMSON BEER

First Brewed: Can't remember but probably 1996

It was sold in the Vic and brewed at the time Nick W was chief dogsbody.  Grateful thanks to Simon W for his help pitting 25 kilos of damsons - a labour of love.

BREWER’S COMMENT:  Very damsony and a little sharp but we sold it all.
